VOCATIONAL SERVICES

Counterpoint offers intensive and standard work/day services and supported employment services.

     Intensive and Standard Work/Day Services
Counterpoint serves approximately twenty people at our Vocational Center. These individuals have a choice of engaging in various work opportunities for which they earn wages.

     Employment Services
Counterpoint provides both short and long term employment services for adults in DD services and VR (Vocational Rehabilitation) services.

Individual placement is achieved by locating jobs in integrated community work environments into which employees are directly hired.

The focus of the service is to provide the assistance, training and support necessary to maintain employment.

Services offered include, though are not limited to: Vocational assessment, team-oriented goal planning, resume preparation assistance, employment coordination, job placement, income reporting procedures, transportation, vocational consultation, and developing working relationships on the job.

     Transportation Services
Counterpoint contracts with the state of Montana to provide transportation to its clients. Rides are provided to medical appointments, stores, recreational areas, work sites, etc.

RESIDENTIAL SERVICES
Counterpoint offers three types of residential services. We currently provide one intensive group home, one standard group home and independent living supports. Residential services consist of the following supports:
     Standard Group Home
  • Safe, clean homes with good food, private rooms, and a family like atmosphere
  • Health monitoring, scheduling, and transportation to medical appointments
  • Individualized assistance with medications
  • Individualized assistance with finances
  • Assistance in eligibility determination and maintenance of state and federal benefits
  • Individualized plans for training and education to develop skills and expand life experiences
  • Supports and opportunities to participate in community events and activities
  • Networking to access any service that a person needs or wants to reach a personal goal
     Intensive Group Home
Intensive homes serve individuals who are deemed eligible for "intensive services" by the State of Montana.

Individuals in these homes require more support than persons in "standard" group homes. Typically there are three staff on shift during waking hours and one awake staff person on night shift.

     Independent Living Services
Counterpoint provides services to individuals in their own residences.

Supervision and assistance provided is based on assessment information and needed services derived from the Individual Planning Team Process.

Individuals receiving supported living services require less supervision and assistance than those living in group homes, or have other supports in place.

  • Assistance as needed in maintaining a safe, clean home
  • Assistance as needed in planning, preparation and purchasing of healthy meals
  • Financial assistance as needed
  • Assistance in eligibility determination and maintenance of state and federal benefits
  • Transportation to medical and other appointments
  • Transportation to other services as needed
  • Training and education as desired to reach personal goals
